Being a Mutant is stressful! Fighting for the right to exist in this world takes its toll on the psyche. Elspeth Braddock is joining us from Earth-13059 to help us learn how to calm our minds and bodies through the focused totality of breath-work, meditation, and vagus nerve stimulation.
The vagus nerve has a physical effect on swallowing, sweating, digestion, speech, and heart rate, & other bodily functions. It’s also highly integrated into the parasympathetic branch of the nervous system, which is a network of nerves that relaxes your body in response to danger or stress.
Stress is making us ill and anxious, so the goal of this workshop is that you will leave this session with exercises you can take home with you to use for help in calming the mind and body whenever life becomes overwhelming. Each student will receive a take home pamphlet that they can refer to whenever life gets overwhelming.
Come dressed in a way that allows you to sit or lay down comfortably. Otherwise, just be willing to bring yourself, your (mental) baggage, and an open mind willing to try some new things for overall wellness.
